Jan Nikadon: “Reconstruction of brain bioelectrical activity from EEG – A simulation study work-flow”

Abstract
Seminar focused on the work-flow of the simulation studies employed for evaluation of methods for reconstruction of brain bioelectrical activity based on electroencephalography (EEG). These methods are aimed at providing insights into governing dynamics and intrinsic mechanics of the brain function. They are intended to improve spatial resolution by orders of magnitude when compared with conventional EEG while preserving high temporal resolution innate to EEG signals (i.e., providing spatial resolution similar to that of BOLD-fMRI and temporal resolution that is orders of magnitude higher than BOLD-fMRI, additionally providing signal that constitutes more direct measure of neuronal activity when compared with most other non-invasive neuroimaging techniques).
