Title: Brains, consciousness, self, free will and artificial cognitive systems
-
Objective: what type of systems will claim to be conscious? How to build such systems. What can we know about ourselves?
-
Participants: Wlodzislaw Duch
-
Time: from the beginning ... to the end.
Notes:
Instead of arguing using dubious philosophical arguments quite specific architecture has been proposed that should claim to be conscious. Although this architecture does not resemble von Neuman computer and nothing similar has been build it should be possible to build it. At which approximation level are we willing to call it conscious?
We are working now on simulation of brain death, from normal waking state through minimal consciousness.
